Im installing a stall and the gap I get using the drill bit method is more than 3/8 and less than a 7/16 bit. I want to know if it is possible to install it backwards or will it contact the block being obvious its on wrong. By the was its a catpower flexplate a little thicker than stock. I spent a lot of money on this set up and dont want to mess it up. cir d +4c and flt lvl 4. Ive also put this in the trans section but figured u guys would know about the flexplate.

You cannot install it backwards, it WILL hit the block. It could be the build height of the converter is off. Is this a stock flexplate you are using?? My Yank was about .28, which is just over 1/4 of an inch. Its not uncommon to see such gaps.

Its a cat power plate and is a lil thicker than stock, I sure now that its on correctly after looking at it again but i like to be really careful when working on my car. so with the gap i have u think im ok so far. im also wondering about the pilot snout( whatever its called) it doents ride on the crankshaft much right? I ask because it was completly greased like it was going to be riding on all of it.

with that kid of gap its not gonna ride inside the crank. However let me clarify my first post, you need to shim your converter. I shimmed mine to achieve less then 3/16ths gap. You should do the same.
