Cam help for a 5.3L
Hello, I am in need of some camshaft advice. I have a 2003 5.3L out of a Tahoe that I am dropping in my 71 Firebird. I would like to get some decent horsepower matched with good driveability. I have an LS1 intake to use for now but would like to upgrade to a better intake. The harness and ECM I have are from an 03 Tahoe also. I have a 4L60E that is being rebuilt as I type this. Any advice I can get would be greatly appreciated!

if you cam it right the truck intake will make more low end power than a ls1 intake. you can get a ls6 intake for $325 at the for sale part of this forum. what exhaust set up will you be using? you can get a tune by mail from Frost. compcam sells LSr cams for 4.8 and 5.3s.I bought the 54-455-11 to use with my stock heads,I did not install it because I upgraded to better heads.

Im not sure what exhaust I will be using; I would like to find a decent set of ceramic tube headers that will fit my swap. I have heard that the truck intake makes more torque but man it's UGLY!!
