Hi

I want to start putting small mods in my 97 ls1 motor

How much HP i will expect from adding these? (as begining)

-ls6 intake
-slp bellow
-ported tb
-slp maff
-ngk laser platinum spark plugs
-slp ud
-taylor 409pro race wires
-slp thermostat
-msd blaster coil packs

ls6 intake 10-15 the tb-3-5 the ud pulley 5-8 the rest are kind of negligable though they may make the car run better...plug and wires that is..things like the maf are a waste and wont do much and may give you problems...just keep the stock maf. the coils are a tad wasteful and wont gain you much. take the money you save on the coils and maf and get a lid/exhaust or headers you will get more for your money.

Dont buy the SLP 85mm MAF. Its worthless. And its harder to tune with that on there. Second with those mods you will probably be at 315 rwhp. Somewhere around that number is realistic.

Your not going to gain anything from the MSD Blaster coils. So forget those and use that money for long tubes. If you do long tubes you will be around 330 HP.

Of everything you listed you will only see gains from these 4 things:

-ls6 intake
-slp bellow
-ported tb
-slp ud

Should be about 25hp increase.

You will NOT certainly gain anything with SLP bellow.

Keep the coils stock, and MAF stock. NGK iridiums is better than platinums for longevity.

spend ur money else where instead of the under drive pulley. get the lid or a tune

my car is 01 SS but with c5 ls1 97 motor! previous owner changed it!

so i will try to go with minimum things, instead of coils i will go with LT

I've k&n lid already! but i miss the other things

we dont have even single dynojet in our country so we usually go to DUBAI (UAE) for dyno tune but we do have diablo or hypertach things looool

ya ls6 heads will fit fine. just do spray and hide it best sleeper mod if hidden well

0.01hp is still a gain, I took fluid mechanics and a smooth tube is going to flow better than a ribbed tube.

i think used ls6 manifolds also flow better then 97 ls1 manifold's!

you can get a mail order tune from frost,but that mite take longer for you.you could get HPtuners and tune it your self. if you can get a ls6 top end go for it.you can polish your TB your self.get a custom cam they don't cost too much more and will do what you want it to do.talk to Patrick-G or Predator-Z for cam help.

make car lighter, there is a lot of weight that can be removed from these cars and still look stock.

I recently have had installed, my car already has the ls6 intake thats supposed to be better, apparently some fbodies have the ls6 engine too from factory?

slp mass air flow sensor
slp lid
slp bellow
ported tb

and I notice a good difference, its not huge but its there

it is a slight bit louder from better flow, runs smoother, idles a little better and has better throttle response

picks up on the highway a lot better


I havent gotten the cold air intake put on yet, plan on getting headers and a cam with tune soon. Have plans for full suspension with slp subframe, bolt on.
