if you are removing the motor and tranny why not take it out from the bottom ?

pulling the motor out from the bottom is not so bad

I just pulled mine saturday from the top. Remove the radiator and all front asscesories, reove that ground from behind the dirver head, remove starter, remove exhaust, headers or what ever. remove coil pacs remove cam positon plug and the ground strap below the brake lines next to the alt , remove ground from passenger side motor mount remove trans mission witch will be un godly if u have solid mounts lol.

I took the heads off only planning on a head swap, mite remove the short block from the top with a hoist.would like to install better rod bolts and a cam.I plan on running a strap from one bank to the other side ,and tilt the front of the motor up as I raise it.I don't think I can remove the pulley with the radiator in.

I pulled mine out from the top ,by removing the intake ,water pump ,damper wheel, this well give you enough clearance to get to every thing at the rear of the block and high enough to get above the motor mount with ease. then disconnect the rest and remove the normal stuff.

its not that bad i took mine down to the shortblock make sure you disconnect everything all grounds take the radiator out make sure you take the hood off a load equalizer helps alot also all accesories must go alt ac water pump everything. i had to take the nose off to get the hoist close enough and i think i had to take the oil pan off also. you really have to strip it down to get enough clearence it is easier from the bottom
