eagle or lunati for max effort iron 409?
looks like there is a $1000-$1500 diference in price between the rotating kits. i dont even really know all the prices or options.
if i am looking at a 800-1000 fly wheel hp project some day would it be silly to skimp on the crank and rods by going with the eagle set up? i dont plan on spining it very fast if that makes any diference, probably shift at 6000-6400.

Looks like all motor is out of the question if he plans on 1000fwhp with shift points around 6k to 6400rpm. I think Eagle and Scat are great for the money, but for absolute reliability lunati or Callies are very hard to beat!

planing on a afr headed iron 409 with a single T76, see how far i can get with that and eventualy spray it some.
looks like i can build the motor i want with the eagle parts for around 6k, add $1500 for the lunati stuff. just trying to decide if it is worth the extra money or not.

IN my opinion CALLIES needs a bit more r&ding on their LS1 cranks (especially those with a 4.125 stroke) as i had a brand new Callies crank (4.125) and the reluctor wheel and other welds on a brand new crank with 3K miles on it broke like a highschool cheerleader's hymen on homecoming prom night! I would stick with LUNATI since your planning huge power and since this seems to be the most battle tested and proven 4.00 Ls1 crank on the market. If you can afford the extra 1,500 i would go with Lunati as the eagle ls1 crank is still and unproven and at least my callies 4.125 proved to be a piece of junk!!!!!

Eagle is the best buy as you know, but no one has run one hard yet. With the amount of HP you want, thats a tough decision. If you throw more power at an Eagle setup than it can handle, that was a $6K mistake. But, the extra $1000 for the other product may turn out ot be a waste of money.
I'd just hang on a bit and see how the Eagle cranks work out. How soon are you looking to buy?

i have an eagle crank its a nice unit. i haven't assembeled the motor yet onlt time will tell.. i bought the crank from Summit for 829.30 shipped the other cranks where double+
i dont think a t76 is the best choice for a 400+ ci motor IMO a 80 would be better
