crank pulley is squealing
ok guys and gals i have an rx7 with an ls1 in it. the ls1 is out of a vette motor and all my parts are from an f-body. So we changed the crank pulley to an f-body with a new arp crank bolt its tqed down right now to a little more then 160 ft lbs. my wrench only goes to 160 so i took breaker bar with a pipe on it to get more out of it. started the car WITH NO BELT ON and the noise is still there. anyone have any ideas?? because i am totally lost!

I did the exact same set up as you for my '57 Belve build (99 vette engine with F-body acc, and arp crank bolt, etc) This set up worked on my car so theoretically you shouldn't have any issues, either. As for squealing- have you tried spraying any belt dressing conditioner/ wd-40, etc around the backside of the pulley to see if the squeal goes away? If yes, you know your problem is some type of interference or rubbing there. If not, then it's elsewhere. Hopefully this can help you track down your problem.

well i was to busy playing with the car so i didn't post but it did turn out to be a dam vacuum leak! the one from the TB to the passenger side valve cover! i was so mad at myself! so i put a big old ugly clamp on it and now the only noise i get is my exhaust!!
