Default ARP 2000 rod bolts overkill for stock rods?

Working on my 02 LQ4. Just wondering if spending the extra $$ over the standard ARPs is worth it on a stock rod or will the stock rods/pistons break before the standard ARPs?

They'll work just fine and are not overkill IMO. I run the same on my LS1.

Thanks for the reply. I am not scared to spend the extra money as long as I can justify it. Did you put them in without resizing the rods?

I definately think they are worth the extra money, and not overkill by any means. You are supposed to resize the rods when putting new rod bolts in but I know many people have not when installing these.

I calculated the g-force seen by the connecting rod (and both rod bolts) at 6000 rpm... it is between 2700-3000 g (as in g-force).

So there is no overkill in this situation.
