Got a cam picked out, want some opinions.
I'm going to sack up and put a cam in my car. I've decides on the TR230, but want some opinions.
Obviously I want the best bang for the buck. I don't care too much for dyno numbers, as long as I can get the most out of my E/t, and more importantly, my 60ft. I also want it to sound like it has a cam, but I want good driveability.
So power and driveability are the main factors, sound and numbers come second.
Here are my supporting mods:
Lid, full exhaust stepped L/T's no cats, Hooker cat-back.
3.42 gear
Yank SS4000
Some suspension and good tires.
2001 MY so 241 heads and LS6 intake.
320 RWHP, 321TQ at this time.
3710lbs with me.
Basically the car is going to stay that way. "IF" I ever get heads, they wont be much, maybe some unported 243's.
Is the TR230 a good choice for me? Is there any other cam that I should look into?
Thanks guys.

thats the cam I have, mods in sig, stronger than stock down low, pulls hard up to 6650 rev limiter, drives like stock when taking it easy, thats on a frost mail tune, lopes pretty good at idle.

Remember the lsa makes the idle, a 110-112 lsa is an aggressive choppy idle, and 114+ will be more stealthy. Also your overlap in mind with the stock heads. Your ptv should be ok with that cam but make sure to check before you button everything up and start it. I'm a fan of the TSP 228r. Very similar to the TR230 just a slightly smaller duration and ex.

4000 rpm stall there is no reason for a cam like that. The reverse split grind theory is to help build power under the curve. 4000 stall won't see much under the curve useage. Plus my little 224 cam seems to have blown the reverse split torque theory out of the water haha. Best advice I can give you is to contact Geoff @ EPS and not listen to any self proclaimed internet gurus.

I agree with Nitroused383, should contact patrickG or Geoff for a custom cam that would be matched for your mods, expectations. The Tr230 would be a good cam for that setup though if you just want an off the shelf cam.
