I am building a 2000 NHRA formula ls1 stock bottom end T-Rex cam (Not Bought Yet) 317 heads ported and polished Ls6 Intake ported by Cartek with ported throttle body and a set of long tube headers (not bought yet) I was just wondering what people are saying about this cam I was on ther site and checked out the dyno sheet and the cam only car ya what does that car weigh 2200 ?? they tell you all about but not the weight. also what injectors do you think I should run something in the 40s maybe

Not too familiar with the t-rex cam but the formula without any weight reduction i believe weighs anywhere from 3300-3600 depending if youre talking about with or without a driver.

T-rex is about the biggest cam that will fit in an LS1. First you will need a big convertor if a4 or gear with an M6 or it will be a dog down low. They also are a POOR match for 317's. 317's have a big chamber so your compression will be low and that cam likes high compression. However if you mill those heads to raise CR you will will have PTV issues unless you flycut. If you want to run factory heads you need to find a set of unmilled 243's or 799's. That will put you at 10.5 CR. You will pick up more if you flycut and mill about .020 to bump you up a hair over 11.1 CR....

In a nutshell 317's are a poor match for an LS1 unless you are running boost and need to lower your CR....
