I figured out My Cam Choice for My C5 Automatic.
OK Guys THANKS for sticking with me and ALL my questions. I have had Cam's go bad, nitorus issues, all kinds of headaches I wasn't planning on.
Anyway, long story short I NEED a New Cam in my 2001 Automatic C5 Corvette. I have an older set of Patriot heads (about in the 2005 year range) The LQ9 heads with 59cc chambers and 2.055 Intake 1.57 Exhaust .
I also had to get them repaired (Full radius valve job, surface square, repair chamber, viton seals) at because I blew an engine and they got dammaged so who knosws what the hell the exact specs anymore?????
I wanted to look at a G5X3 CAM (heard good things, but there is some question about flycutting pistons. MY Pistons have 3 cc of valve release so normally that would be OK, but again with all my issues and not knowing the exact specs of the heads I need to go with another choice to be safe and I CAN'T AFFORD to mess the car up again. I know autos are running the g5x3, but it would be better in a 6 speed (wished I had one...LOL but that's another story...) My choice might be a little better Mid range, but the stall might negate that. Anyway i doubt I am going to notice THAT much if any of a difference in the seat of the pants between the two. I HOPE it sounds good. My 228/.588/114 LSA sounded pretty good and this should be more aggressive so I should like it MORE....
I do have a YANK SS3600 Stall so that will help things out. I know I am leaving a little HP on the table with my choice, but I have to balance the results with what will work and I am not concerned if I leave a few ponies on the table, well kinda but you know what I mean
So I am getting the following Cam, which is kind of between a G5X2 & G5X3.
G5X2: 232/240 .595/608 114LSA
G5X3: 2xx/2xx .600/610 114 LSA
Mine: 234/240 .598/608 114 LSA
What do you guys think?

You SHOULD be alright with -3cc if they didn't mill your heads any more but you still need to measure. Ususlly it is tighter on the intake but with that split it my be closer on the exhaust.... Just measure and you should shoot for .080 intake & .100 exhaust MINIMUM.....
