Default Would this be a street friendly cam?

I'm going to have a cam and stall setup soon, and I've been looking at different options. I've pretty much settled on one, and I was wondering if you think this will be a good cam for a dd.

I was going to go with a comp 228/230 571/573 112lsa
As for the stall, I was going to probably get a 3200 from either circle d or yank.

With that setup, and a tune, do you think I will notice a huge difference in driveability?

I ran a very similar cam, 228/230 585/585 112 and was very street friendly.. Had very good low and mid range power.. I think you'll be happy with it.

How much will adding these screw with my gas mileage? It's not really THAT big of a deal, but I'm just curious.

i think that all really comes down to your tune, and how you drive.
youll prob lose some mpg.. but thats the nature of the beast. esp being a stalled/cammed auto.

u should see what a fuel gauge looks like driving a stalled th400.. u can watch it go down.

Lmao, so I've heard. Well as far as the tune goes, I'm having G-force to it. Idk if you guys know about them, but they're a major sponsor on here, and are renown for their tunes. So I'm, hoping that will help a little since this IS my dd.

The stall will hurt you more than the cam mpg wise around the city when it is unlocked. I have an SS3600 and my 230/234 cam got 22.9 highway (locked convertor) on my last trip from NC to Ohio. It got 25 bone stock......

I've been told that as well. Well here's another question... since I have longtubes, ory, and a cutout that I leave open 100% of the time, will the cabin noise be ungodly loud?

That's another thing... Please forgive me, since I'm new to stalls... But I was told I could have my stock converter flashed to a 3200. Would that mean it won't lock at all? Idk **** about our stock converters, which is why I ask.

naaaa shouldnt be. just depends on what you consider loud. my car really loud, but ive gotten used to it. never been in a car with cut outs so i dont really know. i guess you could always give it a try. if its too loud you could just close it i guess.

The cam you selected would be a great choice if you're trying to be mindful of street manners. I went with a similar cam and with a 112 LSA and it's still smooth on the street (plenty of cam lope from a sound standpoint, however it will roll out on idle when letting out on the clutch).

You'll notice a drop in your gas mileage however it isn't anything drastic. Gears will also have an impact if (or "when") you decide to go with a 3.73 to compliment the setup, however the impact the combination would have on gas mileage wouldn't be close to being enough to dissuade you from doing it. If gas mileage was our primary concern I doubt we'd be driving f-bodies.

are you talk about having your stock converter reworked to flash to a higher rpm?

Well I would prefer to get a different converter altogether, but apparently circle d can restall mine to a 3200.
