Default Lets build an LS1 shortblock. On the cheap.

I have a bare LS1 block.
The ultimate goals for this bottom end is to be able to safely rev to 7500 and survive 500rwhp(approx) It will be naturally aspirated, possibly with nitrous one day, no more than a 150shot, though.

I want to know where to get the following items on the cheap(well best price for my goals..).
-Rods and pistons
-bearings
-seals and gaskets(full kit..)
-oil pump and pickup
-fasteners(Do I need ARP fasteners, btw?)

ARP is not ABSOLUTELY necessary...but it's a good idea. hit up texas speed's website ive found they have been the cheapest on cometic gaskets and a few other things. scoggin dickey is also very well priced. if you don't want cometic gaskets buy a fel pro full gasket set. i haven't shopped around for bearings in a long time.

but definitely hit up texas speed's website for the big things like crank, rods, pistons, etc.

your biggest problem will be valvetrain when rev'ing up that high.

manley hollow valves, really good springs, retainers, pr's, and light weight rockers.

but ive never turned one of my motors that high...so that's just my best guess haha.

Just a few questions.

Why are you wanting to rev so high?
Is this a solid roller setup that you are wanting to put together?

That is just what it looks like so far. What intake do you have planned for this thing? I would definitely look at studding that block all over if you are really going to send it that high.

I'm honestly wanting to have a "safety cushion" with that rev gal. Honestly I doubt it would ever see the far side of 7000RPM.
For now its going to be a stock head with decent cam motor. The future may hold some aftermarket heads and bigger cam. Or I may end up with a FI setup along with heads and cam... I jsut want a solid base in the meantime for room to grow, without pulling the engine.

As for solid roller it will ALWAYS be a HYDRAULIC setup as I did the solid roller thing and its just not fun to drive everyday.

You don't need to spin that high on the majority of the hyd. cams that would even clear a stock head without a flycut. They would be out of their powerband at that point nearly. If its what you want to do though go for it.

Yeah I would be doing stock bore, or maybe a slight "over hone" or over bore.

im not sure why everyone is freaking about about 7.5k rpms, if thats where your cam makes the power that shouldnt be a problem. My engine is stock bore, stock crank with forged I beam rods and forged pistons, TSP valvetrain, ported heads and i went 7k rpms on the dyno with a nice and flat HP and TQ curve up until i let out at 7k. The engine ran great.

But if you want 500 hp out of an N/A stock cube ls1 you better put some real good heads and intake on it and probably bump the compression up a little.

But, find a cam with that power band that isnt a solid roller.
