Default trick flow as cast 220's vs. tsp stage 2.5 ls6's

does anybody have the flow number of the tfs heads, and would they be worth the extra 100$ over the tsp's?

Don't have flow numbers but I have a set of each.the TF 220s are worth the extra. Can't Really appreciate the TFs over PRC until you have the two in front of you. But They have revamped their CNC program and are putting out a better head now than before
Just wish they would smooth off the edges.

Comparing flow numbers is not a good way to compare heads.

Trying looking at results from people running those heads.

And in this case the results confirm the flow #'s. TFS as casts are WAY better than the tsp stage 2.5's.

The TFS as cast were worth 19/19 over my PRC 5.3's...... Same dyno pulls made 2 days apart......

An El Torro variant. 230/234 111+2

If I ported my FAST and went with a bigger MAF & 95mm lid 450+ is realistic.....

Won't you need the yella Terra roller rocker to go with the TFS heads?
Any aftermarket rocker isn't cheap.

no no no you do not have to run roller rockers with TFS heads...they have the same guides as any aftermarket head, afr etc...so afr's should have roller rockers too...don't believe all the hype

read this thread

https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...-421-rwtq.html

also the 220 as cast are about one of the best bangs for the buck right now...I believe RPM was running a special for 1680 shipped with free milling and a set of pushrods...that's a great deal...

It is recomended but not needed. You can use your stock rockers on the TFS heads if you want to. Just contact TFS for more information.

Your going to be looking at heads & rockers to get the TFS setup running if you have a camshaft under .600" lift. If you want to run over .600" lift you'll also need a valve spring upgrade. In other words your comparing a $1500 set of heads to $2200 for heads, rockers, springs!?!?

You might consider the PRC 215 or 227 heads if your considering spending that much $$$. They will use a stock rocker system & sell fully cnc ported for the cost of a as cast head...

I bought my TFS 220's from Vengeance it was $1800, milled to 60cc's and with the upgrades springs good for like .670 lift I believe. I put down 457 and 400 on a mustang dyno. Hands down best bang for the buck.

They are really apples and oranges. The Stage 2.5 LS6's are a ported GM casting. The 215 and 227 heads are our aftermarket casting designed to compete with the AFR and TFS heads. They have the laid over valve angle that offers a bit better piston to valve clearance (even with their larger valve size) so you can run larger camshafts without flycutting your pistons. They are have more room under the rocker rails so you can run a multitude of different/bulkier rockers without having to grind on the heads or rockers. The aftermarket casting has added material in crucial places around the chamber that give them added strength under higher pressure (power adder combos) so you don't have the issues with heads lifting like you do oftentimes with the GM castings. Also, they can be had with 6 bolts which also helps prevent lifting when run on the LSx 6 bolt block!

These aftermarket castings are the culmination of years of developement and design. We've been very pleased with them so far!
