Default LQ9 Block on the way

Hey everybody,

I am a bit new here, even though my account is kind of old this is probably my first (if not close to it) post. I have been lurking around and reading up alot. I finally decided to take the plunge and bought a new LQ9 block (which according to R&L should be here thursday). So far my tentative parts list is as follows:

Eagle 408 stroker kit
Patriot stage III heads (kind of concerned about these heads lowering compression below the 11:1 point)
LS7 lifters
FAST 102mm intake manifold (as well as the supporting throttle body)

I am thinking about going with a MS3 camshaft, but I am still researching and looking around. A rough idle doesn't bother me so long it retains a degree of streetability (I actually dig lopey idling).

My ultimate goal is to make 450-500rwhp on pump gas NA. The engine will be bolted to a T-56 and either be going into a 4th gen camaro (if I can find a clean shell for around $2-3k) or I'll be transplanting it into my 07 350z. Any advice is appreciated.

with a custom camshaft for those heads and intake you'll hit 450rwhp IMO and it wont be as big that MS3

why not get some ported L92 heads? they are alot better than the patriots IMHO. You shouldnt have any problems hitting 500 rwhp with that setup.

I have been looking into those today thanks for the suggestion (I will probably end up going with them).
