Default Gain from P+Pd LS6 Heads?

yeah, another head thread. The other one got me thinking and I didn't want to jack his thread.

I bought a set of Wheel 2 Wheel ported and polished LS6 heads off a guy here a while ago and they've been on my car since. used with stock valves (I'm guessing) and PRC Dual Gold VSs.

Was wondering what kind of gains they gave me over my stock 2000 LS1 heads. Also used with an LS6 intake with a SLP P+P (Stock LS1) TB, prolly 78mm.

I've tried asking a couple times on here for flow #'s and all I get is crickets.

-Also, what is the largest size TB you can run on a stock LS6 intake? If I hog it out a little can I fit an 80 or 85mm?

^ I did heads AND cam at the time. Got it tuned at TSP. My full bolt on tune was 336/346 at sea level. My H/C tune at TSP at 3800ft elevation pulled 414/372. Not impressed with the TQ numbers, but PatG said it needed more fuel down low.

I'm looking to add some serious parts to this in the winter.

im going to subscribe to this. as far as some cnc'd 243's i know they can get up over the 300 cfm mark, and i think around 220 exhaust.

im kinda with you tho, when i see people with stock 243's and a cam laying down 420-440, and cnc'd guys laying down about the same. then again, an awesome intake really helps out the better heads...

^ Agreed. I'm lookin for a larger TB for mine as I'm still running a stock-ish hogged out LS1 TB and it's prolly holding me back, of course. It's becoming harder and harder to find FAST 90's so I'll see what I can do with my LS6 intake.

I found a thread on VetteForums that was claiming 20-40 with worked over LS6 heads and saying they are a great bang for the buck. But then again, that's also with the better block. I need some new Tech under my hood and I think the LS1 will come out within the next year or two.

I would expect a minimum of 25rwhp, more likely 30+

I've heard of guys putting 85mm on the LS6. A quick search should net you the result. A company will do the port work for you for $350 making your LS6 fit a 85mm. I forgot the site....TPS or something like that.

I'll get the TB and see IF I can do the port work myself. Can't be that bad. I just don't want to cut too much out and weaken the intake.

I'd say 20-30rwhp with P & P LS6 heads over stock 241s.

there some really good 243s out there, most are hand ported and not cheap. You can move 350+ on on a 3.9 bore. I have ported them to 315 with a stock valve.
There are some nice ones cnc ported but most are not that great but alot cheaper.
