I'm assuming by no plate you mean no restrictor. These engines don't use restrictor plates like in NASCAR. They use venturi restrictors. The valvetrain is good for 7500. With the restrictor they only revved to 5200 because once the restrictor goes sonic there is no point in revving it any higher - you're not going to make any more horsepower. It will just increase the parasitics.

If you simply remove the restrictor it's not going to instantly make 700. The engine is designed around the restrictor with small ports to maximize torque. You would need to port the heads and maybe play around with the runner length on the intake.

The issue is Jason that according to your bore and stroke size the motor is a 415ci not a 427ci. That's why he had the

Yea, there was a typo on the stroke. Sorry about that. It should be 3.985.

Not only is it a mean motor, but it's a freakin peice of art. I'd drive around with the hood removed just so everyone could see it.
