Default ticking noise narrowed down but still ?????

ok, some may remember i had a ticking noise that i couldn't find. well we tried to pinpoint some possiblities tonight and this is what i came up with. the tick sounds like a bad lifter or that occasional tranny syncro tick you get. i hear it 90% of the time. we are convinced that it is in the front of the motor. so i took the belt of and still did it. that means its not the water pump or the belt. have any of yall ever had a ticking noise from a timing chain or the oil pump. i guess it could be a front lifter, but im not loosing performance.
ANY IDEAS????????????

I've had a ticking noise come from my injectors actually. Went and did that injector cleaner that plugs into the fuel rails at my buddys shop and that took care of it. But I know there's also a TSB on the O ring seal between the oil pump screen and the oil pump being cut causing it to sound like a ticking lifter... One way to check if it's the injectors is to take a small tube and put it up to you ear and listen around the block to locate the noise. I did this and it came directly from the injectors. Hope this helps

I have a ticking but it's only after my motor warms from 110 to about 180 deg then it's gone, or if I rev it a few times it goes away until I turn it off for a bit then turn it back on. I talked to the guy who used to own the car he said it did that from day 1 .

It used to tick longer until I went with Mobile 1. I just wonder how many others have this problem
