Default Lowest RPM your cam will cruise at?

Tell me the lowest RPM your aftermarket cam will cruise at without bucking or otherwise being ornery.

I can idle my 224/230 cam on a 111LSA in 6th gear at 800 RPMs as long as I'm on perfectly flat ground.

Why do you want to know what other people's cars with different setups run? You put a lot of strain on the drive train by trying to go 50 in 6th gear. It's best to probably stay around 60+ for 6th gear. But since were on the subject and you are looking for answers. My 228r will cruise at 1400 rpms in 6th gear without issue. My old HOSS with a 244/248 cam would do it without bucking around 1900. Both were tuned.

I am glad to hear those cams will cruise this low. I just wanted to make sure a Comp Cams XR275HR (222/224) would be able to Cruise at 50 MPH at 1700 RPM in overdrive. Where I live, I spend a lot of time at that speed cruising.

Stock '02 LS1
Stock Compression
VRx4 Cam 228/230 @ 112
4.10's on a T-56

At or near 40 MPH the car will drive and drive fine @ 1k RPMS in 6th but I generally Stay in 5th which makes it I wanna say 1500-1600 Rpms. It does have a good tune and due to having 4.10's it is not cranky.

With a stock cam and a 3.42 to 4.10 swap in my Moser I could do 6th EVERYWHERE but it was mentioned by a few that I could foul the o2's so I stopped that practice.

IMO if your doing 50 or more, 6th is fine. On 3.42's @ 70 mph I was spinning 2k even and I run about 2,500 on the 4.10's in the same gear and get decent gas milage.

Question why the broad question. What are your plans for your car. After that we can help you a little more. You can bet that 2 different people with the same cam yet different set up will have different idle ranges. This question will give you as many varied responses as asking people what is your favorite color.

Virtually idle. Ron shot a video of us cruising downtown Cumming GA. 100 degrees outside, 38 mph 6th gear, AC on, uphill no bucking surging stalling NOTHING !! You can find the vid on Youtube under Drivability with Allngn_c5 I think. Will try to post a link.

239/243 .623/.623 113+3 LSL lobes. 402 ls2 based stroker.

Mine is perfect just barely above idle cruising. If I just am leaving from a stop, sayin in a parking lot doing 5mph. It will buck/surge, and that's the only time it will
