Default Heads and Cam package

My plans are to get a set of heads and cam for my car.
I came across this package deal on the ws6 store
http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=1406

What do you guys think? is this a good deal?

Or should I look for something else?

Basically I just want to keep up with my brother's 03 cobra.

I believe 03/04 Cobras make 420 horsepower at the flywheel. A couple TSP head and cam packages will make 420+ horsepower at the wheels so you should look into one of them and you should take him no problem. Get a couple supporting mods while youre at it and he'll be the one playing catchup.

Cobras make 390 at the flywheel stock. It's hard to find a stock one nowadays and the pullied or ported supercharged ones are no joke.

Their numbers were underrated they make a little more. How much do the pullied or ported ones make generally.

I owned an 03 Cobra. With a cat back and a k&n the car ran 12.80s @110 at sea level in Florida summer heat with a roll out lauch on stock tires. It dyno'd at 363 rear wheel horsepower.

With a 14lb blower pulley and tune the car ran 12.30s @ 116 on the stock tires. Traction was non-existent. It dyno'd at 430 rear wheel horsepower.

The Cobras make big time horsepower but launching them can be real tough.

Is that a common mod for 03/04 cobras, the pulley?

upper and lower pullies are the most common, then change over from stock to a KB blower from 2.3L to 3.4L then to e85. I have a friend running stock block and internals w/ a 3.4L kb e85 running a 10.01 @ 141 and its stick. With a 28" Hoosier slick he still has the gall to break them loose in 1st, and 2nd

Whats the liter size refer to exactly? The 3.4L size. Do the different size pullies act like overdrive pullies? Theyre smaller so they spin faster?

Last nigth I got to drive my Brothers cobra, and those things are a totally different animal. On 3rd it pulls like crazy. His car it s only has a pulley (2.8 I think) and a tune. I was very impress with the power on those cobras. My car has LT's, borla exhaust, ls6 intake, lid, 4.10's and a mail tune and i felt like I was driving a 4 banger next to him. But now it time to spend money on the T/A. My budget is limited to 3g hopefully this will get me where I want to be.

If your budget is limited to $3,000 I would start looking for used AFR or TF heads. New AFRs can get close to your budget by themselves.

AFRs
Decent Cam (23x/23x)
LS2 Chain
Ported Oil Pump
Sticky Tire

You will probably need a clutch and rear end sooner than later after that.

E85 is basically equivalent to 105 octane or somewheres around there. Its getting very popular with forced induction cars. It's pretty much like running race gas.
