Your thoughts on this cam choice??
I've got a 01 WS6 M6 W/ full bolt-On's, 3.90 gears and a bunch of suspension work. I'm currently doing a cam swap (nothing big...something street friendly and something with good power under the curve) and I wanted to get your guy's take/thoughts on this camshaft I'm considering. Too small? Would I net decent gains w/ it and a tune?

Would the 224/224 have good power under the curve? I don't want to spin the car to the moon. Looking for some nice torque throughout the powerband and something that would net me roughly 35-45 more RWH.

I really enjoy my Patriot cam. Excellent powerband starting low. I have ZERO problems with it as my DD. In fact, there is room to go bigger and still great as a DD. I will probably be throwing in a TSP Torquer V2 when I get some ported 243 heads later down the road though..
The Patriot cam I speak of is 225/229 .580/.590 114+4. Still not a baby cam, but not a huge cam. May want to consider it. It cranks up and goes on a cold start without any hesitation or waiting for it to warm up.

Like the others have stated -- I'd look at the VRX3 from Vengeance or one of the good 224 cams out there. They would offer great driveability and plenty of power under the curve.
If you wanted to go bigger (I'd recommend you stay in the 224 - 228 range), for the sake of comparison check out the cam specs in my sig -- this cam is also quite street friendly....I can let out of the clutch and idle away without touching the throttle. That being said, it still loves the throttle!

dont know why ppl think big cams are so bad...i had a 240s cam in my car and NEVER had one dd problem with it. Im not trying to say get a big cam, but there not that bad to drive or dd.

I agree with the above statement. I guess I am missing something, but why do people worry so much about power under the curve? If you are racing you will be going from 3.5k plus.

If you plan on racing from the idle to 3000 rpm range than a small cam would be good. Last time i checked we race till almost redline in every gear so why wouldnt you want more power up top
