Default ls6 cam question

Do you have to change your push rods when putting a 02 ls6 cam in an 5.3?

I have been told that you won't need to change the push rods in the 5.3. I am doing the same thing with a ls1 cam in a 5.3. I couldn't find a 02 or newer ls6 cam for a decent price.
