What do you guys think of this price?
Cost of the camshaft, with matched valvesprings, seats, seals, retainers, including the removal and installations, and the computer programming and dyno tuning is $2900.
Is that a good price for that amount of work? Cam is roughly around mid-high 22x to low 23x.

Seems like extortion to me.. but I do everything myself....so?? and depends where your at... How much are parts? I wouldnt think labor would excede that. There isnt much programming to do really. I'd say for a shop to do it, it seems about a grand too much. Cam and valve spring swap is only a few hours work.

Does that include the pushrods, bolt/gaskets for install, ported pump, chain set, fluids, etc that are required? Or is it ONLY the cam, spring kit, install and tune? If it's the latter, then yes it is a good bit too high! For a TOTAL package though, it's not far off.

Post up on here, im sure you can get some experienced locals to help out, or do the work yourself!! it will cost you parts, and a couple of 12 packs i bet.. Saves money for more mods!!
I did a cam swap in my 01 WS.6 recently (TSP 224R), and it was suprisingly easy. I used the LS1howto, to get a rough idea of what was involved, and found tons of info here, to get me through it no problem..
Biggest problem i had, is i dropped the stupid pickup bolt into the pan.. By the grace of god, it caught up on the pickup tube before dropping into the sump and i got it with a magnet though.
All it took really was a few torque wrenches, pretty basic hand tools, and a 3 jaw puller.
