How big without the shakes?

How big without the shakes?
Looking for some experiences here.
I had the opportunity to ride in a 99 C5 a few weeks back witha 220/220 .581 on 114 cam in it. Stock tuning.
Baaaaaarely noticable non-stock sound through headers, no cats, and a stock C5 exhaust. Sounded great to me. ( I won't get started on the 244/244/112LSA 427 I heard/rode in that gave me chills...man alive)
Thing that bugged me a bit was the shake you could feel through your seat at idle. Felt like the car was missing or something.
If one was to bump the idle to 800-900, tune the car, and keep the LSA 114 or wider, could you get a 224/224 cam to idle without getting any shake? Even my stock cam shudders a bit from time to time, but it's the exception rather than the norm.
Looking for experiences from those of you that have had cams in the 220 to 224 range, on 114 or wider(larger numerically) with tuning, and how smooth you've been able to get them?
Any input appreciated...

Your right to consider the idle RPM. Has ALOT to do with it.
My 224/220 116 Stealth II is an exceptionally smooth cam for it's size due in part to the 116 LSA. When my idle is at 575 I have some shake (but no lope unless the cuttout is open.) With the idle at 675 there is the intermittent shimmy. Not bad, but it doesn't feel stock from the driver's seat (although it sounds perfectly stock from the tailpipe.) Now, take it up to 800 or so and she's pretty smooth.

My gt2-3 cam is the ultimet sleeper because of the 118.5 lsa. I ideal at 550rpms and you could not tell. Hell my friends dont even know the car has the cam in it. They can not figure out how every time he run the car i can smoke them.

Hoping to locate a few more cammed, Colorado area LS1's to get a look at, there aren't many around here sometimes, it seems.

I actually made one a couple of days ago but I had a bad spark plug on the driver's side which was causing it not to run so smoothly. Weird, workin' fine one day and running like the next. Anyway, it's fixed now so I'll try to find a few minutes to do it today.

If I were you I would go with the TR 220 or the TR 224 on 114 LSA....Their lobe designs seem to have a better idle than the rest....I was amazed at ther 224 even on a 112 LSA. I guess if you are going to invest in a tune go with the TR 224, if not try the TR 220 both on 114 LSA.
