Default black vaccum box on pass side

i had to remove the black vaccum box located on the pass side frame at the front of the car (beside the horns), i had to remove it because one of the charge pipes hits it.

just wondering what is the purpose of that box ?

what will it affect if i remove it (i have already plugged up the vacuum line that went there)

The vacuum canister is a a vacuum reserve for the HVAC system. It makes it possible to go up hills without the vacumm operated doors in the HVAC defaulting to Defrost. It has no other use.

So without it if you go WOT or up a hill where you open the throttle wide and manifold vacuum drops low your AC will come out the defrost vents.

its just to assist hvac controls when under low vacuum conditions. I have been without the vacuum reserve for some time and have never noticed it being gone.
