Default Some LS2/GTO info from HPP

Hopefully this is not a repost.

I didn't see this posted yet about some LS2 info for the GTO. According to the April 2004 edition of HPP the GTO will get the LS2 with LS6 heads. The knock sensors have been moved from the valley area to the driver side of block between cylinder 5 and 7. The timing sensor has been moved to the front cover.

The coil packs are a larger design as are the plug wires.

So our hope of using the LS2 block is kept alive at least for now.

That sounds pretty cool to me. I would love to see one when it comes out.

The current GTO is an LS1 for sure, he must be talking about a future update/upgrade for the car.

If ls6 heads bolt onto it.. That makes the situation very hopeful.

Cheers,

We just got a Black GTO ready for mods. We will have a cat back in a few weeks. Then we will make a GTO version of our LG pro Long Tube headers.
We have air filters already and we will be working on other parts soon.

Thanks

I personally think the mag is way off base on this one. The LS2 has heads based on the LS6 head design. I could see the GTO getting either the complete LS2 package or getting the LS6 package that is now going in the Caddy CTS-V.
