Default Anybody been running the comp 26921 springs for awhile?

How are they holding up? And how many miles do you guys have on them? I'm looking to swap out my 918s for some safer springs is why I ask. I ran a search but nobody had anything to say about them that was actually running them.

Mike, I have used these on a couple of customer's cars. The last set was on a GTP stage 2 / TR224 setup. The car made excellent power up to the 6700 limiter and he has put 4-5k hard miles on it. So far, they seem to be holding up very well.

The new Crane duals are a good alternative to the Comp 921s. I have used these quite a bit also.

wow that is considerably cheaper for the cranes. Would you say the comps are that much better to warrant the price? Are they made out of some special material or something?

I got my 921 kit from Scoggin for about $480

They are a supposed to be a complete new spring material, heres hoping they were better than the 941 I had.

Do the cranes have the same spec as the 921.

TSP has the kit below, it is exactly what Jason posted but it uses Patriot retainers instead of the Crane, a little less expensive. It is what I am suggesting to my buddy,

Price: $329.99
Item:
Crane Cams Dual Valve Springs, Patriot Performance Titanium Retainers, Hardened Spring Seats, GM Valve Guide Seals
Description:
This is a cheaper alternative for a complete Crane Cams dual valve spring package. It comes with all of the same quality parts except this package uses Patriot Performance titanium retainers instead of Crane's. These are also used on their cylinder heads

Ahh I am buying a new forged shortblock and I saw one of my buddies forged blocks get ripped to shreds because of a broken 918 spring. I would rather have duals to try and get as much safety as I can . The 918's are good and I have never broken one myself but I just want to be as safe as I can cause I don't want to fork out more cash anytime soon for a new block.

gotchya.....I used them as an upgrade in my stock internals blown 6.0. I know the blue stripe 918's are the way to go.....any thoughts? I have never had one go bad.....

For me I am just worried about being at the edge of the lift threshold with my cam. for a stock internals/boost car these would be excellent springs as your lift would be well below the 918's limits IMO.

That is what I figured.....just raised my brow when I read your post....I have installed many of the 918's as upgrades for the boosted application....helps with the valve float.

is this the new kit that is dual springs and has the seals and retaines in the kit. i am running the new comp dual kt but cant remember the pt#. if these are the ones you are talking about then i have ran them for almost 3000 miles and no prob yet.

i broke 6 rev duals and changed to these. my heads are set up for boost so the install height is mid 1.6xxx

o and good choice with the duals cause the inner spring got me home and saved my motor 4 times. then i broke an inner and outer on the same cylinder and well the truck would not run.

If you are using 918s, you need more cam.
