Hand ported 241 heads (pictures)
Just finished porting my 241 heads using a dremel, it took 30 hours total to do both heads.
I got rid of the rocker bolt hump, smoothed the runners with 80 grit sand paper rolls but removed hardly any material, narrowed the valve bosses but didn't go crazy, removed 25% of the intake ramp but still wanted it to do it's job and blended/matched everything. I would guess the runners are still only about 210-215cc/75cc. and the heads should flow around 270-275cfm, better than stock Ls6 heads (260cfm)
These heads are also be in the for sale section since I only ported them to sell them. Came off my 2002 camaro with about 45k miles. Only $500 with valves and stock springs. My camera sucks at taking close ups so they look a lot better in person.

Ehhhh, not tooooo bad but not too great either. You could have taken a little more out of the rocker boss and tryed to smooth the valve stem guide a bit better. Maybe even do a bit of blending the seat to the bowl also. I'm sure using a dremmel was not easy, you really need something with more torque than a dremmel, such as a die grinder that runs off a compressor.

I did slightly blend the seat to the bowl but not all the way since it takes forever with a dremel, Like I seid though the pictures don't do it justice. I took some more exhaust pictures to try and capture it better.
The camera is too sensitive to the light so it picks up the reflections where it looks like there are chips in the ramps.

UPDATE: Well I went back over the heads like you said. I took more out of the rocker bolt hump, blended the seat with the bowl, and cleaned everything up. Don't forget my camera sucks for close-ups though..looks better in person.

I might lap the valves but would rather just sell them as is and stop dumping money into them, already up to $200 on the dremel, carbide bits, sanding rolls, ect

there needs to be a thread where these terms are explained and arrows are drawn to the areas that they apply to, just an idea. but i'm sure you pick up the terms after some research and reading. is there a self porting thread?
