Default APE 408 stroker

My problem is this, I have a goal of 500 RWHP N/A and need some help choosing a head and cam to achieve this. The motor will have the eagle FI and 11.75 CR. I will be using atleast a 150 shot on top of this. I have been reading alot about what heads actually flow through the LS6 intake and how some can be considerably lower then the radius inlet flow #'s. This is where I am at a loss because i dont believe to many vendors actually do this.
My other mods are 410 gears, Cartek ported LS6 intake ,LG headers, Vararam, 30# injectors. So if anybody out there has the answer to my trouble please help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I would also love hear about your set ups and results. THANKS, John

I sure do, Absolute Speed is your Answer. jay flows all of his heads through an intake and matter of fact, im having APE build my shortblock and Jays Stage 3 LS6's are going ontop. Give him a call, he will know what you need and take care of you.

Jay's heads are top notch! They would be a good choice for your engine. I would talk to Jay and find out what he recommends for your engine.

Good luck choosing your heads.

i can only recommend you give Jay a call. Ofcourse they wont be cheap, but if you get ahold of Jay, he may extend his GP pricing to you. Which will save you a significant ammount of money. My LS6 Stage 3 heads, + the 950.00 i paid for the heads, Ported LS6 intake and 80mm TB are running just over Half the total cost of the Short block, soooooo... its not cheap. But, thats where i will be making my power from the extra BORE that APE is building for me. I wish mine was done to share results with you but everyone i have talked to agrees that APE and ABSOLUTE ='s a Killer Combination of Price and Performance.

Add two more Ape and Absolute 409 combos to the books! Decision came down to 5pm tonight and , frankly, Jay called, so he got the order.

DanZ28, give me a call or Pm me. I think that you will like our pricing and our turn around time.

Mike, got your block today! Your crank has been ordered and should be here by Monday. Looks like we will be able to get rollin on this right away next week. Send those heads up!

Thanks,
Chris

has anyone with the APE short block and Absolute heads done track or dyno testing to see the results.
I can see that everyone thinks this is a great combo and I am surprised no one else has thrown in a different oponion. I am just courious about the results.

As far as I know JZ'sTA, these will be the first of their kind. Most of our engines generally run our heads. Jay does a good job with his heads and that is why I think these guy's have gone that route. I am sure in the next month or so we will have results on some of these engines.

Thanks

From Chris:
"Jay's heads are top notch! They would be a good choice for your engine. I would talk to Jay and find out what he recommends for your engine.

Actually , the above statement was one of the reasons we chose Jay, other than the fact we beleive in him. Another was that he called when he said he would and we were itchin to get them ordered. I think there are several vendors heads, including Apes and TEA's that would have done great for these motors. Our minds litterally changed daily. If AFR's 225's ever arrive, I will give them a heads up shot at the job, as I have committed to a vendor for those already as well.
