It really depends on what your wanting. Have pat g or futral motorsports spec you a custom cam for your setup though.

You have a lot of research to do. Figure out what your goals are first. Start small, with basic bolt ons first. It's very difficult for anyone to recommend a cam for you with the info that you've posted. I'm really not trying to be an ***, but there is sooooo much to consider when picking a cam. Good luck.

Hes right a 224/224 size cam is considered to be the all around best for daily driving. There easy to tune and idle very good for DD. They make strong low/mid and still make decent high end power plus you dont have to rev them motor to the moon to make it. But if your looking for peak high rpm power you might wanna go a bit larger. Call some of the sponsors and have them spec you a custom cam for your setup.

i dont think youre being an *** kevin. im aware that a cam is a complex mod and im just trying to see what yall think is the best and go from there. but yea id like to get the most power out of a cam but like i said i dont want it to be a ridiculous size cam that would do more harm than good. but my mods are longtubes, 8.5mm MSD wires, lid/K&N filter and other than that im completly stock. im wanting to do a heads/cam and thats where i stand so far.

Well for daily drivers most people consider 224 and 228 duration to be the sweet spot for an ls1. But if you looking for more peak numbers alot of people run low 230 range duration cams and have no problems at all with a decent tune. Take a look at the futral F-13 It sounds like it would fit your needs well.
There alot like a 224 cam except they have about 10-15rwhp over 5500rpms.

The F-13 specs are 230/232 .595 lift there supposed to be kind to your valve train also.

I also ended up getting a EPS cam after pat g custom spec'd it for me. Mines 230/234 111lsa+4 .600/.602 lift.

I said I wanted a cam like the f-13 that I could shift at 6600rpms and Lope like a Motha F*cker and thats what he spec'd.

I honestly would not go smaller than a 228 duration cam. But since i have never rode in a cammed car, and my cam is a 230/227 and seeing how civil my cam is i would definitely step up to a bit more cam.

I have a Texas speed Torquer V2 on a 112* and I love it. With just headers, the cam made 397 RWHP. It just keeps pulling and pulling. As far a streetability no problem with a good tune. I let my friend drive mine and he has a stock 99 SS and he said mine drove just like his except for the idle. HE HE HE. Seriously It took me a while to get the driving issues out but I am not a pro tuner. If you have a kick *** tuner you can run this cam and a little bigger no problem. It's all in the tune not the cam. There is a tuner around here that drives a high 240 duration and high 600 lift cam daily driver. It idles like a Harley Davidson but purs like kitten right off Idle. When I bought my first LS cam I was worried about going to big. Lucked out and bought just the right one. However if your looking for monster torque down low then back off to a 224 or 228. On my car you have to take it 6500 RPM to take full benifit of the power. The difference between 6000 RPM and 6500RPM is about 40 HP. If you like a real choppy Idle then go with a 110 or 112 lobe seperation. If you like a smooth Idle keep It above 114. You can have a huge cam and a close to stock Idle. Hope this helps some. good luck. Oh also If you don't want to be replacing valve springs in the next 20 thousand miles then keep the valve lift somewhere in the low to mid .500
