If you're already getting a peak hp lower than your rev limit, you won't make more peak hp USING THE SAME PARTS. You will make the same power, but shift the power curve to a lower rpm range. If you up the head/cam intake package to suit the extra cubes, you can keep the same basic power curve, but stronger overall.

The extra compression that can come from stroking it would help power, however.

Torque numbers follow the same stuff as the hp, depends if you're matching parts for the extra cubes.

If you like where your power is, but want more overall, cam it with the extra stroke. Heads too if $$ lets you.

TSP 383 stroker kit balanced 11.25:1
Fast 90/90 setup
PRC 5.3L stage 2.5 heads. had them ported to get rid of reverse flow numbers...now they actually flow what they are suppose to after 300-400 dolars of porting
MS4 cam
Kooks 1 3/4" LTS
not sure where this setup will put me but hoping to get around 430RWHP with an A4

with the right converter you mite see 480/470 hp/tq.I'm concerned about your converter, does it have a adapter ring on the front?if so get a different converter.

That sounds like a good setup that 383 should do good with that ms4 cam.

6.0 370 > ls1 383 because of the larger 4" bore, would look into building a lq4/9

well i kind of planned on replacing the converter when i get the tranny rebuilt in the spring im sure it will stall to about 4500-5000 because i think it's specced for mildly modified at 3500. but what is the deal with the adapter ring what happens if it has one???

to answer that yeah i looked into building a 408 but im not gonna chuck this project that i have about 5 grand in and start over sorry i don't have that kind of money to waste. i thought i had a block and rotating assembly for 2 grand but he acted pretty shady and didn't seem like the type of person i like to deal with. and that discouraged me a little so i just said the hell with it a 383 will get me where i want to be. i have to stop somewhere because im not sticking 10 grand in a motor. another reason is my intake is cathederal port and i think i want to leave it that way. in all reality the cost difference is really just buying the block kits are the same. then i would get ragged on for having a set of 5.3's on it. sorry im not trying to come off as a dick.
