I usually change mine, but then again I get into enough trouble without having to chase down self-inflicted air leaks.

I have the original intake gaskets on my engine...it is 10 years old with 222,000 miles on it now. The intake has been on and off a number of times plus three different sets of heads and cam swaps. They are still working fine. I bought a new set years ago but have never used them. I would say the the life span of LS series engines intake gaskets and valve cover gaskets (yes they are the originals too) is very long...

I would say it depends on what condition they are in. I have reused several on different LS motors but they have never had more than 50k on them. If they look good and arent ripped they are probably ok. It isnt that hard to pull the intake again if you have to but it isnt that expensive to just replace them either.

The gaskets on the ls1 engines were designed to use over again. But any gasket that has been overheated etc and looks old-worn should be replaced.
