Default LS1/6 valvetrain interchangability

I am thinking of putting on a set of LS 6 heads and LS cam. Will the LS1 valve rockers, pushrods and roller lifters interchange or will I need LS6 specific parts? Thanks.

Yes, they will interchange.

the rockers, pedastals, retainers, pushrods, and all that jazz are the same the only difference between 241's and 243's are the runner size on 243's are slightly larger. the lifters will work, but while youre in there put new ls7 lifters in it. i think anything you get new from gm will be the ls7 lifters anyway.

I think you need to bring over the LS6 pushrods too, as the LS6 cam will have a smaller base circle.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, because I am planning on doing the same.

ahh good call. when he said ls cam i thought he meant aftermarket and would have to measure for pushrod length but if its an ls6 cam ROCNDAV is right

You should measure for pushrods. That is the correct thing to do when mixing and matching a combo together.

Also, you might want to replace the rockers with new stock ones (they're cheap).

Thanks for the replies. I had a hunch the pushrods would need to be changed out. Would LS6 rockers suffice?

As mentioned above check the pr length however gm lists the same part number for the ls1 pr's and ls6 so u should be fine either way
