Default What do I need to buy?

So I've had this recurring ticking noise that I'm about 70% sure is one or more of my lifters going bad. I have a 2002 Z28 by the way.
So it's time for me to replace those. But I figure while I'm doing that I might as well throw in a new cam with the LS7 lifters. I've been lurking on ebay/craigslist/classified but realized I'm not entirely sure what I need.

I'd like to get some suggestions on what cam to buy. This car is a daily driver that gets raced occasionally. I'm on a really tight budget. Eventually when I have the cash I'll throw on some heads. I need to have this done pretty soon because the ticking is starting to get worse.

Secondly, what else do I need to buy? I know I'll need new pushrods to go along with the cam and lifters. Do I need to buy new rockers, springs, or anything else as well?

Lastly, if anyone can point me in the right direction for where to get a good price for all of this that'd be awesome.

You need to at least get valve springs and pushrods to support a cam. We have cam packages starting at $590 that will include the aftermarket cam, chromeoly hardened pushrods, and the correct valvesprings. We also offer the LS7 lifters at $140 a set. Give us a call if you have any questions.

Is your car auto or manual? It also depends a lot on what you are looking for. Do you want an aggressive lopey idle or something more smooth? Give me a few answers to these and it will be easier to help you out with the cam.

It's an auto. It's a daily driver that is occasionally is raced.
The idle doesn't really matter to me as long as the car is drivable.

I don't want to lose gas mileage if possible.

Converter? If not, you may want to go that route first.

Everything is stock for an auto 02 Z28, exhaust, gears, and all. Do you guys think I should just hold off on the cam until I can afford those other upgrades first?

Remember I'm doing this only because I have to have my lifters replaced. I figure I might as well throw in a cam.

a 224r with 114 lsa mite work with a stock converter.the stock rockers will work just fine.get the cam pkg and lifters from TSP.you will need a tune ,frost dose for it for $125-150.add the converter when you can afford it.

Wouldn't I need a re-tune after I add the converter? What stall would you recommend?

I live in Tampa, FL and there is a guy around here who supposedly does dyno tuning for around $150-$200. Would I be better off getting a local dyno tune or frost tune?
