Default valve springs

ok so i just got this cam

99-TR-CHEATRLS2-CAM

scroll down and you will see it


it says "Comp 921 Valve Springs are highly recommended"




where can i find these for under 600 bucks, or can i used different ones because comp's prices are alittle high....


let me know guys, im new to the whole ls1 thing.

thats pretty much what im asking, if another set of valve springs will work...


i dont want some that arnt going to last long at all tho.

i would just pick up the patriot duals, from patriot. They are a sponsor here and have a good product for the price of $255, they will suit your application very well.

lunati golds $220 shipped. Any proven dual spring will work really. Patriot, Lunati, PRC, Comp, Manley etc.

ok, so it says the comp 921 valve springs, if i were to get them from patriot what would those be called, im looking for one with certan lift right?


i just want to make sure i dont order the wrong stuff lol....

well whatever your cam spec is be sure to give yourself a buffer if its a .600 lift cam run a min of a .625 lift spring if not a .650 lift. On the other hand theres seat pressure to account for. usually a fairly normal ranged spring will be around 180# closed and 380# open. If youre running dual springs that open pressure will be higher. so I would say whatever the comp 921 specs are find the spring thats closest to that if theyre so insistent on a 921.

I agree......Any one of those springs would fit the bill.

well here is the cam specs, i dont really understand all the numbers but i know the last one is lift.

anyone recomend certan springs?

lol i know any brand will work now but im still unsure about what EXACT spring numbers im looking for... like i said, im new to the whole ls1 game... iv been a rotard for the past 5 years and have finnaly come to the dark side....

Do not use the Patriot Xtreme's on stock lifters.

Any of the other duals will be fine. You don't "have" to have 921's.
