Default 98 z28 pcm replacement question

I have a 98 camaro z28 a4 my pcm got fried long story... will a 98 trans am a4 pcm work? is there any other pcm's that will work? Please only answer if u r 100% sure if not please let me know ur belief and state it as a belief or fact thanks. I really dont want to try something unless its 100% sure to work thanks

98 Z and TA A4 PCMs are 100% interchangable. The only thing in the calibration that could be different is if one car had 3.23 gears and the other had 2.73 gears. Then the speedo would be off and the shift tables would be different. Or if one came with non Z rated tires it would have a top speed limiter of 119 vs 160.

Sweet thanks does the fact that ta has flip up head lights affect this any?

Another option is to get a re-manufactured PCM w/ the exact stock tune that your PCM had. Call PacePerformance... you send them your fried PCM as a core & give them your VIN. They will send you a re-manufacterd PCM w/ the factory tune for in it from the VIN that you gave them. Price was $150 + the core PCM a couple of years ago. Would imagine it to be around that price today. PacePerformance is a GM performance dealer & their information can be found through Google. I'd put it here, but, can't, as they are not a sponsor.
