Default Engine Builders TX

Hi Guys....

I'm going to bite the bullet next year and invest in a stock rebuild for my 00 Camaro.

I live in South TX (Corpus Christi) and so I'm looking for recommendations on a engine builder.

Houston is perfect and anything further would have to be considered carefully.

At this time the motor is still running decent. I have 106k miles on the engine and it has the typical symptoms. Slight lifter noise and blue smoke at WOT, also seems like it has lost some power due to loss compression.

I would probably want the usual, new piston rings and bearings all the way around. New oil pump and timing chain, and a new set of valves or heads if needed.

I called LMR and they gave me a rough guestimate.....so just wondering what else is out there.

Thanks in advanced!

We are a dealer for HKE and i know LMR uses LME. Either one builds good motors but i Only have had Erik to build my personal motors never had a single problem. I will be ordering a new nasty motor for my Foxbody soon.

I have heard alot of good things about HKE, I live here in fort worth, I have personally dealt with TSP on a ton of stuff, and I would consider buying one of their crate motors in a heartbeat.

I have had two motors built for two different cars both of them by eric at HKE great guy and company to deal with. I will also add that they do tend to take alittle longer then most to get your motor back to you but hey quality takes time . I would put it to you this way I would rather wait longer to have eric at HKE build my motor then have someone else build it even if it would take alittle longer or cost alittle bit more.
