228r or g5x3 cam ????
i have a 2004 gto m6 with lt headers and it's a DD that I put 80 miles a day on. BUT all that is highway miles with no traffic. I have been wanting the 228r cam, but i have come across a deal on a g5x3 112 lsa cam kit for almost half the price of the 228r kit price. I know the 228 is prob the better DD but the price and horsepower of the g5x3 is talking to me. What would ya'll do. I don't want to tank the car as far as gas milage goes but since it is ALL highway miles I figured it might not be so bad. BUT I have heard that you might have to flycut the pistons and I DO NOT want the cam if i gotta flycut. these are stock heads un milled. WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS DO hmm........ ???????????

Since your car is a daily driver im sure everybody will say the 228R as its a good all around size for a daily driver cam. But there are guys who daily drive a cam like G5X3.
I honestly would not want to throw a used cam in my car. Im just picky like that. For the time and effort and money spent on a cam, i would honestly throw a cam bigger than the 228r. I will say that once u get that 228r tuned, you will be amazed how much of a bigger cam you could have ran with great street manners.
