Default my 241's or my 706's?? i know not again lol

Ok guys I know ive asked this before but please give your input on these two heads only and please help me make my decision before I get into it..as of right now I got a stock ls1 with stock pistons and as far as I know heads never been off, I'm going with a eps cam and not 100% on specs yet but will be around the cheaTR v3 specs which are 219/230 .595/.604 117.

Now I have my 706 heads at the shop right now all cleaned up and ready to get worked on,if I go that route ill have them resurfaced with .05 taking off nothing fancy there and with stock valves with a 3 angle valve job as well as bowl porting and thats it OR I can get the 241 heads in there and do the same thing

So my question is should I just give him my 241 heads and have him do those and sell my 706's and make my money back? Or just have the 706 heads done? Will it be same outcome with either head if they were both done the same? Would the smaller valves and compression ratio bump of the 706 heads even make a difference? Thanks

I was going to go bigger valves but its out of my budget..so might as well just keep the 241s? Not sure on ptv clearance but shouldn't have a issue

I would use the 241's for the bigger valves, bigger valves=more air= more power. if your really bent up on the compression of the 706's just have the 241 milled checking ptv of course. The 706 are regarded as the worst flowing head for the ls engines because of the small valves someone correct me if im wrong tho.

The 5.3s are terrible for flow but if they get totally worked they are great because of their small chamber.

In stock form, you're correct. They don't flow as well. Properly ported, that's a different story. I've used some ported 5.3's in the past that would rival ANY ported 243 head.

Definitely do the 706 over the 241 if you have the option. The smaller chamber will make it worth it.

Thanks for the postings. Yea either head I go with will just have 3 angle valve job and bowl porting. And just be resurfaced
