Default What hell white/yellowish inside oil cap??Pix here

What hell look at oil inside cap. I have 2002 Camaro SS 117,00 miles LS1. I see the oil pressure show average 45 psi at+3000rpm.

Is it coolant gasket turn bad?

Lose the low temp thermostat (if apllicable) or drive the car long enough to get the oil temperature higher than the boling point of water.

Thanks,Dark
It's common for LS1..I will check it up and check on PVC any leaks. I checked the oil dispstick looks clean oil and the radiator (I use Dex-Cool orange) looks normal level. I drive daily in short trip often.
I notice the water temp. stay around ~ 180* all times without the electric fans on.

Should I check thermostat?

Its gotten cold, you need to get those temps up or you could have bigger issues. Short drives are killer in cold weather.

The more direct measure is an oil temperature. Your 180 degree coolant temperature is pretty low and I doubt your oil is hitting 212+ degrees. In any event, the presence of the gunk is proof the oil is not getting hot enough, often enough.

Do you have 160 degree thermostat as opposed to a stock thermostat?

Setting aside the debate as to whether one can increase horsepower using a low temperature thermostat - they are not condusive to keeping the oil "moisture free" on daily drivers because they increase the time it takes for the oil to get hot enough to boil off water accumulation from ordinary condensation and combustion. Be sure you have the stock thermostat - usually 180 - 195 F or so.

Short drives, as vettenuts indicated, are killers.

Mine is the same way but only when it is cold outside.I have a 160 thermo in it.I live in Florida and hate to go to a hotter thermostat. It only gets cold here about two months out of the year.I get spark knock anything over 200 with the tune that is on the car.I guess I will just ease around till the cold leaves.

I had that problem with an engine that I had when I used to run Pennzoil. You might want to change oil brands and see if that helps. Just a thought?

As has been said before, if you make a lot of short trips in cold weather, that is the result you will get. If everything else is fine, just make sure you get your car to operating temperature, and the problem will probably go away.
