Default Installed Valve Spring Height???

If I am going to use a Drop in Dual spring do I have to do any height adjustment or anything or do I just "drop" them in? I am confused? I have read of people having to use shims and such to make the springs correct. I have no idea how to do this and hope I don't have to. I am looking at Cranes or Patriots Dual Valve Spring Kit. Thanks in advance.

It is always a good idea to check the installed height of the springs. The factory installed height is ~1.800", give or take .005". You would have plenty of enough spring pressure at 1.800" with the Crane duals for your average cam selection.

You should be fine just dropping the springs in and finishing the install.

Is the G5X2 considered an average cam selection or is that a cam that would need the spring height adjusted? Thanks for the help it is greatly appreciated.
