What numbers are you wanting to achieve? Also any future plans like spray or just na. I went w texas speed for my head and cam combo. Mines a dd, I chose the stage 2.5 5.3 prc heads with the tsunami cam. Dynod at 440hp and 418tq. Love it.

Same boat here and trying not to exceed $3k. Good head/cam combos I've been looking at are tick performance polluter cam and trick flow heads. Also Texas speed tsunami cam and prc 5.3/ls6 heads. Both setups with good supporting mods will put you at 440rwhp easy on a stock bottom end.

If you have more to spend(4-5k+)then check out AFR heads and a custom grind cam. Just search and you will find.

I saw that you just joined our forum, welcome. What other mods have you done to your car? Is it going to spend time at the track, is this your daily driver? Is there a certain time your looking to achieve at the track? You can do a lot with 5500 to get the hp, but there are other things that could make you faster, quicker track times, instead of just adding hp.

TSP has a sale on their PRC heads, combine them with a TSP cam pkg.vengeance racing has a good trick flow head/valve train pkg also.the biggest cam is not always the fastest ,if not complimented with the right supporting parts.

you could get to the low 11s w a head cam only, good suspension setup and drag radials or slicks. And a different rear end would help.

i would definitely go custom. i'm not a nitrous guy, but if you get a hold of one of the cam guru's they will spec you out a good custom cam that can handle nitrous.

You can always call texas speed too. Tell them what you want and they can match you up a great combo. They really know there stuff. Worth the call either way you go.
