Default lq4 build help

i have a 2000 TA that i was planning on doing an lq4 swap. i have the complete motor in my garage and it is bugging me that its not in my car yet. so i have a few questions hoping someone can help me with.

What all do i need to know before i start the swap? any thoughts or tips?
how do i relocate my alternator?
besides the intake manifold and oil pan/pick up is there anything that needs to be swaped off the ls1 on to the lq4?
what should i do as far as the heads? 853, 241 or 317s? (i have all three)
which fuel rails and which injeactors?
what type of fuel pump?

all tips and advice would help me out alot thanks so much

Everything from your previous motor will swap over to the new one. You do not need to relocate the alternator, you can either use the 2 bolt holes provided or drill and tap a 3rd if you need. For heads I would run the 241's out of the 3 choices you listed, it will be important to try and get some compression in the motor. The fuel rails and injectors will depend on what intake you put on it. You can also use your stock fuel pump or upgrade to a walboro 255 if you would like, not required though.

I would leave the oil pump alone. Swap everything else. 241's for more compression cause the lq4 has dished pistons ( 317's have bigger chambers so less compression 9.4:1 I believe on the lq4). oil pan and pick up will need to be switched I would use the ls1 intake and injectors. If your going threw all that maybe throw in a zo6 cam or something cheap.

What did you use to port your oil pump?
