Computer Tune after Cam?
I would like to understand what changes might be made with the computer tune. I understand that most will include a dyno pull so you will know you hp and tq. I don't really need those numbers I just want to know what adjustments the tuner will make. Can you do the same thing with a Hand held device?

adjustments are most times made with hp tuners, it's software that you have to purchase to install on a cumputer. and trust me tuning is best left to the pro's. it's extremely easy to screw up.

you have to re-adjust start-up, idle, drivability, and WOT parameters which require a wideband O2 sensor and some sort of EFI tuning software like HP Tuners or EFI Live.
handheld tuners (like Hypertech, Diablosport, etc...) only have predetermined tunes in them for very general modifications like headers/exhaust, cold air intake, lower thermostat, taller/shorter tires, new gears, etc....
Things like heads/cam swaps, or even simply stepping up to a much better flowing intake manifold, require adjusting your primary VE table, main spark, startup airflow, etc.....HP Tuners has nearly 200 parameters that it can adjust, EFI Live has even more still, not all of which require adjustment, but a lot of important things do need done that a handheld tuner cannot do. A chassis dyno isn't necessary, it's just a tool that makes the job a LOT easier by simulating driving conditions and allows you to see exact rwhp/rwtq.
