Default valve spring ?

can i run patriot extreme dual springs 660lift on a 580 lift cam? will they cause more wear on my valve train than a lower rated set of springs? or should i go with a 600lift beehive single spring setup?

Yes. I know someone that just completed 50k miles using those springs on a cam with similar (somewhat higher) lift in an LS6. There may be better choices, however.

Is this a situation where you already have the springs or are you thinking about buying them?

You can use the. Depending on how many rev's you want to hit you may need to shim them to get closer to coil bind at max lift. This however may raise seat pressure too much. If you have em use em, if not I would go with a beehive.

I've had my comp 918 beehives on my cam with a .589 lift for 20,000 miles and never had a single problem!
