Default Can I eliminate this

2004 silverado ss

Return style fuel system going in. Its part of the egr system (dont know why). This comes from the gas tank and hooked up on the back side of the throttle body. There is also a vent to atmosphere by the tank. Nick williams 92mm has no provision for it.

Can I JUST ELIMINATE IT. Sorry forgot to add the image doing that now.

I don't think the 04's had EGR. It sounds like you are referring to the EVAP. If you have to pass emissions testing where they hook to the ALDL then you may want to try to keep it. Otherwise you can delete it and just let the fuel tank vent to the atmosphere.

And if I eliminate it what do I do with the plug. My only other option is to drill and tap my edlebrock lsxt manifold witch I really dont want to.

That is definitely the EVAP and not air injection reaction or turd ferguson. Sounds like you need a new book

It went to the top of the intake manifold, not the throttle body as you stated. Just unplug it if you don't have to worry about the emissions test as I stated above. You can do whatever you'd like with the plug... it doesn't care.

Thanks jimmy

Your right it did come off the intake manifold. I do need to pass emissions it a street truck. Its hard for me to remember I took everything apart so long ago LOL.

I doubt the book is wrong as it was written by Will Handzel former program manager for gmpp devision. But crazier things have happened. I guess if I need it to pass emissions I may be drilling and tapping the manifold. Any other thought on it?

Thanks for the input jimmy

That would be the EVAP purge solenoid.

I deleted mine but there are no emissions in Florida. Gulfstream sends all our emissions to northern Europe. Lol

If you do delete it, I think you will get a code that will also need deleting. Also, make sure to plug the metal line that goes back to the tank. I didn't on mine and my exhaust manifold lit the fumes. Looked like a pilot flame for a gas heater or something.

Ill try to keep from lighting my car on fire. I really want to do the least amount of work to get it operating correctly. Well i guess if I need it for emissions drill and tap it is.

Thanks killer
