Default What do yall think of this wear pattern?

Ive never seen wear patterns like this before. I def know its not supposed to be like this, and has anyone ever run these pistons? I payed for a "forged" motor and have sealed power aluminum pistons, stock rods, what looks like a stock crank and clevite bearings. Id say I got FAR from what i payed for

The motor had 5438 on it and literally .1 of a mile with a bad lifter

Weird **** on the crank. looks like they went to drill/balance it and fucked up

#1 (both sides)

#2 (both sides)

#3 (both sides)

#4 (both sides)

#5

#6 and bearing

#7

#8

I noticed both sides of every piston has wear around the oil rings at the top of the skirt. Im pissed and will be making a few angry phone calls tomorrow

Main caps and a bad #4 bearing, but then again no bearing really looked anything other than horrible

WOW i'd be pissed too, I hope you post up who made this mess! From the pictures it looks like the crank got smacked by something AFTER it was run for a while. This is why I only use top shops who have spotless reputations. Every time I've used the average shop there have been problems. I was doing a Jag motor for a classic 60's Jag and price was no object. I used a local guy who had a good rep......yep you guessed it he fucked me over good. Customer was beyond upset...pulled the entire car and did the rebuild hinself. Made me look like a fool!

Good Luck

ps i just noticed this was done in cali........NEXT!

On the Crank, it looks like they went to drill another hole, and the bit slipped. What do your cylinder walls look like?

Run without oil or oil pressure? Was it running when you bought it or did u install it and have a problem? Or is this how it arrived?

Almost looks like the bores are too small for the pistons (judging by the skirt wear), and they tried to seize once they got good and warm??

i do not know the name of the actual shop that built the motor. We went through corvette mikes who have been working on me and my dads corvettes for the last 15 years. They have NEVER made a mistake with the vette's and we figured the have turned out some pretty bad *** cars and they told us this is always who built their motors so we went through them cuz my old man likes to go with who he knows as opposed to a shop someone across the country.... he knows better this time tho lol

Never ever run without oil and lowest pressure it ever was was 30psi on a hot day last summer. I payed to have the motor built brand new and it was installed and then i drove it. It was supposed to be a completely forged motor tho

says 5438 miles in the first post...which is not much for that kind of wear.
