Default took car to shop for massive oil leak ugh!!!!!!!

well i took my 02 ws6 into shop for a massive oil leak i didnt know where it was leaking so i dropped it off yesterday morning and picked it up around 4 yesterday afternoon. when i got there the guy asked what was wrong i told him it was leaking oil everywhere and i just wanted it fixed he said no problem we can take care of you. well i came and picked up the car and started home with it and got down the road about 5 miles or so and it started making the most awful noise i have ever heard so i pulled over and looked under hood didnt see anything out of place ( but i really didnt know what to look for ) so i cut the car off and checked few things that i knew to check WELL I CHECKED THE OIL AND GUESS WHAT ?? it didnt have a drop of oil in it so i ran over across the street to gas station they didnt have any oil so the guy at the store told me to get me home all he had was some brake fluid so i bought 4 quarts of it and poured it in my car and fired it up and it was knocking like crazy i babied it on to my house...

i called the shop that did the work and he got all mad and told me well u brought it in for a oil leak and thats what we fixed was the oil....... of course it aint gonna leak oil if it dont have any in it

do you guys think i have messed my motor up it dont have but 47k miles on it so i dont think it wore out yet please help me

that sucks!! but why did you drove it home like that with brake oil?? If I was you and didn't find engine oil I would of pay a tow truck but I'm sure you would of found engine oil because even the dollar store sell it!! I hope you already drain the brake oil out and pray your seals don't go bad!! did you add engine oil and started the engine?? is it making any noise? is it running normal?

get full coverage insurance, wait till it rains, open hood, rev up and point water hose at intake.

I can't believe I just read what I think I read haha..I can't believe you used brake fluid and I can't believe how dumb that guy is and how they are in business after something like that..uhh duh it has a big leak so obviously there wouldn't be no oil captain obvious which means after fixing it add oil lol wow..I'm not sure if you can really do to much since you added something other then oil to your engine.. I woulda called a tow truck after not seeing any oil and called the shop and said new engine or lawsuit

If you put brake fluid in the motor and drove the car the motor is fried. That's why it was knocking, brake fluid isn't a lubricant and the bearings are destroyed.

Man you really screwed yourself buy first taking it to some mechanic you didn't know and assuming they'd fix the problem and then listening to a gas station clerk and pouring brake fluid in as a substitute in place of oil. You are really going to get bashed in this thread. But since you are knee deep into the **** now, YOU cannot fix this problem. I would call a tow truck and have it towed to either a reputable trustworthy mechanic with knowledge of LSX engines, or to a local Chevy dealership. Since you stated you do not know anything about cars, don't try to fix it, you will make it worse.
Where are you located, maybe we can refer you to a local Sponsor/Shop from the board?

First thing drain the brake fluid out, then add some inexpensive oil and a cheap oil filter bring the engine up to full operating temperature...drain oil and remove oil filter again...now use a good oil filter and add 6 1/2 quarts of 5W30 Mobil One and fire that baby up and hope like hell you haven't hurt the engine (bearings)!!

Edit; On second thought you could just use some inexpensive 5W30 fossil oil and a cheap Fram oil filter for the second oil change also, that would still provide adequate lubrication thus allowing you to determine if the engine is trashed or not.

Long as you used 5W-30 synthetic brake fluid it should be fine
