Head gasket thinkness and push rod length?
hey guys had a couple of questions for you all, i am getting ready to install a set of trick flow 215 heads, victor jr intake with large elbow 102 throttle body. The engine is stock cubes (for now) and has the megadeath camshaft 612/610 and 244/242 duration with 112 lsa. What i would like to know is do i need to replace my now 7.4 comp magnum push rods with 7.5 due to the trick flows being 13.5 degree valve angle and OEM 15 degree. Also, what thickness of head gasket (cometic). I was wanting to run .040 but was thinking that .051 was OEM thickness and probly the safest considering cam shaft size with no valve reliefs in the pistons. Can the pistons be fly cut while in the engine? just trying to find the best way to set all this up... Thanks for any input guys. Would love to hear from some of you at trickflow, hpe, anyone that has the experience in this area.

My advice would be to plan on flycutting because with that cam you really should consider increasing the static compression ratio by milling the heads - that will likely necessitate flycutting. It is more work but it will pay dividends in terms of power. And yes, will have to measure everything more than once.

aswome guys thanks, that was my only concern was the flycutting with the engine in the car, but yes i would absolutely love some more compression, i made 416 cam only but with these heads and intake throttle body, and added compression id really like to see 460-480 but we shall see. Again thanks for the input.
