i just got a 2000 chevy truck motor that is said to be a 5.3l motor. i want to put it in my rx7 im building so i bought a ls1 cam from a gto. i want to use a 700r4 tranny and a megasquirt ecu to run the motor. what else is a good upgrade to do to the truck motor. i have to run a ls1 intake and stock exhuast manufold to clean with the turbo kit im building and the hood im new to the chevy motors

Ls6 intake ported tb.. push rods springs timing chain lil pump.. I would do ls6 cam over the ls1 fam, more power and likes boost.317 heads.. under drive pulley, not worth much though.

I think they usually go for around 150.. would be a solid 20 rwhp gain or so.

Set of hardened pushrods.. new 110 used 80.. i dknt know your setup but most likely 7.4, please don't take my word on this, check for yourself.
Set of dual springs.. I think new they run around 200 or so, I could be off on that though.
Look on our sponsors pages for these. I personally buy from Texas speed but all our sponsors are a+!

Ls1.. i would assume 15 on a 5.3. That is with a stock motor otherwise also. With the 317 heads, intake, etc you will see a larger gain.

why cant you run the truck manifold flipped towards the front like most guys do with camaros/firebirds? Megasquirt is sweet, you ever worked with it before?>
