I run them in my car but I don't drive it on the street anymore. It might have 3000 miles on the engine with the caddy lifters. It does have about 250 passes on it shifting at 6800-7000 if that helps.

ok the caddy race lifters were cracking at the time i was in the middle of my race engine build.

The caddy lifters susposenly have a solid piece in them and they will act as a solid lifter when the hydrolic reach there peak, so instead of colipsing they are solid, i hear this wont happen till 7,400 + RPM, I think the reason behind this was that during Long 24 hour racing the lifters get so beaten up from the quick high revs that they caddy designed the lifter to be a solid lifter , but this stresses the body of the lifter and it will crack eventuly,

No the LS7 lifter from what i know is a high quality lifter with not solid piece in it and good up to 7,000 RPM,

I use the LS7's in my motor and i peak at 6,600 RPM but i am procarged 740 RWHP @ 15 psi The LS7's work great for me

I was lucky enough to catch the problem when I installed the H/C in my 346. It took 3 boxes to get a good set.

The problem was found when the lifter would not slide smoothly into the lifter tray.

Actually still have a set, thought I should keep them in case problems did show in the future, you could not purchase individually.

the caddy lifters are garbage. i have worked at gm for 5 years now and always see them break and destroy cams. on stock applications. i wouldent put the in my ls1 for free. if a factory escalade and other trucks break them why would you put them in anything hi perfomance. id go with ls7 lifters never seen a prob yet.

Spinning that high lift that high revs you might want to look in the link below for serious stuff:
